- Like a river glorious is God’s perfect peace,
Over all victorious, in its bright increase;
Perfect, yet it floweth fuller every day,
Perfect, yet it groweth deeper all the way.- Refrain:
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.
- Refrain:
- Hidden in the hollow of His blessed hand,
Never foe can follow, never traitor stand;
Not a surge of worry, not a shade of care,
Not a blast of hurry touch the spirit there. - Every joy or trial falleth from above,
Traced upon our dial by the Sun of Love;
We may trust Him fully all for us to do;
They who trust Him wholly find Him wholly true
I was trying to think about what I was going to blog about when the song "Like a River Glorious" by the Galkin's started playing on my playlist. The words to this song are so awesome, and so encouraging to me, and I hope that they may be an encouragement to you.
So what's been going on with me lately? Well...my ship is about to go on a three month deployment in a little while...can't say exactly when for operational security reasons, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. One thing good about it is that by the time we get back I'll only have 1 year left in the Navy...which anyone who knows me understands that I am very much looking forward to that. In case you don't know me and you just happened to stumble on my blog...let me explain. God called me to be a Pastor when I was in my Freshman year of High School, and then called me in my Senior year into the service so that I could pay for college, and also have a good foundation to start my life on. Having said that I know that the military is exactly where the Lord wants me...but I have to be honest...I don't always enjoy it...and I often struggle with having a good attitude about it. I know the Lord is teaching me many valuable lessons...but some of them are pretty hard, and often painful. Anyways...getting back to the point...like I said I'm looking forward to my deployment because it should hasten the time till my one year left mark...but at the same time, deployments aren't easy. If you want to get a taste about what days underway on a U.S. Navy ship are like, you can read my 2nd blog I wrote back in February of '09 titled "A Typical Day Underway on the USS Blue Ridge". I do have to say that I do enjoy some of the ports.
Anyways...sorry that this is such a confusing, random post...but if you could be praying for my ship, that we would be safe during our deployment I would appreciate it!

I read the typical day post, Steak!for breakfast! and blueberry pancakes, sounds like I need to join the Navy:) (not really)
I will keep you and your ship in my prayers.
