So, I don't think I've posted about this before, so this may come as a surprise to some of you, but I have absolutely no interest in organized sports. I have tried many times over the last 22 years to gain an interest in sports, and it has only every been very short lived. The most I ever got into sports was back in middle school when my family was still living in PA...it was when the 76ers made it to the championship against the Lakers. The only reason why I was able to get so into it was because the whole school was going nuts about it. So I got caught up in the hype and showed interest for about a month...but after that month was over the interest died off and I once again was less than interested.
The same goes for the Super Bowl...the Super Bowl for me has always been just an excuse to sit at home around the TV, eat food, and fellowship with friends and family. Since I joined the Navy, I've taken away the sitting by the TV, and have just settled for using it as an excuse to eat, and maybe hang out with friends. But this year, you know what I'm doing? Well...I'm sitting down in my shop on the computer typing this blog...the Super Bowl is playing on the TV...but am I watching it? No...there's a plate in front of me with chicken bones on it from my somewhat less than amazing Super Bowl dinner (Hey, what can you expect from Navy cooks?). I might call my family later to see how their celebration is going...really wishing I could be with them right now...we always had a fun time...
Anyways...sorry for this terribly random, sentimental post...if you couldn't tell...I'm slightly bored...
Oh, and I might be doing another post from "More Than A Carpenter" later on in the day. I was reading it last night before I went to bed, and got some very good stuff out of it.
